- DeCoster, Thomas G. " Tom"Thomas G. DeCoster, age 57 years, Kaukauna, died Sunday, April 9, 200 6, at Appleton Medical Center. He was born June 24, 1948, in Appleton, t he son of the late Robert P. and Betty (Winter) DeCoster. Tom served in t he U.S. Army during 1968-1970 in Vietnam.He enjoyed hunting up north and fishing in Canada. Tom played in many crib bage tournaments and played cards with family and friends. He was kno wn as the "master chef" with his excellent grilling skills. Tom loved bei ng up north with his family. He loved spending time with his grandchildre n.He is survived by his daughters, Shelley Meyerhofer, Kaukauna; and Jodi (P aul) Gardner, Seymour; his son, Ross DeCoster, Kaukauna; grandchildren: Ha nnah, Avah and Olivia Gardner; Andrew, Brooke Meyerhofer and future grands on; brother, Robert (Ellen) DeCoster, Kaukauna; sisters, Kay Van Dera, Kau kauna; and Mary (Paul) Verbeten, Freedom; nieces and nephews: Marisa (Quin n) Shartner, Adam Doell, Carl and Craig Van Dera, Kristin Verbeten, Kare n, Sara, Steve, Jeff and Emily Goetzman; Paige, Scott and Aimee Van De He y; Holly and Rob Jacques. He is further survived by other relatives and fr iends.Tom was preceded in death by his parents, an infant sister, Diane and infa nt nephew, Scott Verbeten.A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 12, 2006, at F ARGO FUNERAL HOME. Inurnment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery. Frien ds may call at the Funeral Home on Wednesday from 4 p.m. until the ti me of service. A memorial fund has been established in his name. Tom's gi ft was to be an organ and tissue donor so that others will benefit from hi m.A special thank you to Marty DeCoster for all the help he gave Tom, the do ctors and nurses at Appleton Medical Center and to Dick and Maureen Wint er for all their love and support and all other family and friends who off ered their prayers and love.I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the fa ith.
