- See Image Edward John Verhagen, age 8 2, beloved husband, father, brother, and grandfather, died peacefully at h ome Saturday, August 15th, 1992 after a lingering illness. He was born Ju ly 20th, 1910 in Freedom. He was the son of the late Henry and Wilhelmi na (Weyers) Verhagen. He married Rose Nackers at St. Paul Catholic Churc h, Wrightstown on April 24th, 1941 and they had lived in Little Chute mo st of their married life. He was a member of St. John Catholic Church a nd was also a member of Appleton Papers Locks Mill Quarter Century clu b. He was employed by Appleton Papers prior to his retirement in 1973. S urvivors include his wife, Rose, two daughters and a son-in-law Joan Verha gen of Little Chute, Marie and Jeno Pafford of Rockford Tenn., four sons a nd daughters in law Bill and Judy Verhagen, Jerry and Karen Verhagen, a ll of Little Chute, Carl and Karen Verhagen of Kaukauna, Dan and Patti Ver hagen, of Freedom, three sisters, Agatha Nussbaum, of Kaukauna, Ceil and N orb Meulemans of Wrightstown, Millie and Irvin DeBruin, of Appleton, sev en brothers, Ben and Marge Verhagen, Lawrence and Gladys Verhagen, Richa rd and Monnie Verhagen, Sylvester and Minerva Verhagen all from Kaukaun a, Rev. Robert Verhagen, in Mexico, Raymond Verhagen, Appleton, the Rev. D onald Verhagen, Vail, Arizona, 13 grandchildren, Craig and his fiancee, Ta mmy Weichmann, Kathy, Judd, Jill, Sarah, Stephen, Tim, Jeff, Greg, Kati e, Ben and Kristen Verhagen and Scott Pafforf. He was preceded in dea th by a daughter, Mary, a sister, Martha Schuh, and two brothers, Franc is and Lloyd. Funeral services will be held at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, Augu st 18th, 1992 at St. John Catholic Church in Little Chute with Reverend No rbert Verhagen and the Rev. Donald Verhagen co-celebrating the funeral mas s. Internment will be in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers and Memo rial Fund has been established. The family of Ed Verhagen thanks God f or Ed's 82 years of life and devotion to his wife, family, and friends.
