- Joan Schuh, Appleton, 60, passed away on Saturday morning, Feb. 17, 2007, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on April 26, 1946, in Appleton, to the late Frank and Beatrice (Stoffel) Blazek. She first married Lester Remter who preceded her in death, her second marriage was to Ronald Pitt. She is currently married to Gary Schuh, Covington, Mich., Joan worked for many years as a Certified Nurse's Assistant in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. She enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, playing cribbage, dancing, darts, relaxing up north, fishing, Friday Fish Fries, playing Yahtzee with her best friend Jan, and every moment she got to spend with her family.
She will be sadly missed by her husband, Gary Schuh; her children, Mark (Laurie) Remter, Appleton; Paul (Tammy) Remter, Hortonville; Diane (Fred) Kerk, Appleton; Vicki (Bruce) Bodway, Appleton; Tammy (Chris) Petrasko, Appleton; grandchildren, Andrew, Leah, Aaron, Joshua, Nicole, Heather, Aleesha, Nathan, Taylor, Makayla, Brooke, Payton; great-granddaughter, Jada; step-children, Vicki (Todd) Verhagen, Sherrie (Steve) Marthaler, Tom (Lisa) Schuh, Crystal Schuh; step-grandchildren, Stephanie, Taylor, Lynsie, Samantha, Austin, Brady, Brandon, Amanda, Noah; mother-in-law, Beatrice Schuh; sisters, Bernice (James) Van Asten, Patsy (Vance) Garvey; sisters-in-law, Patsy Schink, Judy (Hank) Van Cuick; brothers-in-law, John (Linda) Schuh, Dan (Lois) Schuh, Randy (Lori) Schuh, Rick (Debbie) Schuh, Charlie Schuh.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by, an infant sister, Dorothy; grandson, Tyler; father-in-law, Frank Schuh; brother-in-law, Frank Schuh, Jr.; sister-in-law, Karen Tellock, as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Funeral services for Joan will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2007, at 5 p.m., at the Wichmann Funeral Home (537 North Superior Street), with Chaplain Jordan Kuczwara officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 3 p.m. until the time of the service.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at the Martha Siekman Cancer Center, especially Dr. Swanson, and the nurses and staff of Theda Care at Home Hospice, especially Suzie and Chaplain Jordan.
