- Evelyn A. "Molle" Hietpas, Little Chute, 69. After a courageous four and a half year battle with cancer, her Lord and Savior wrapped his loving arms around Molle and took her home. She spent her final days, much like she spent her life, surrounded by her family. Evelyn was born in Appleton on March 7, 1938, to the late John and Elsie (Tiesling) Molle. On June 29, 1957, she married Luke Hietpas at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church where she was a life long member. Her strong faith and daily devotion to the Lord was the foundation of her life. Evelyn worked as a bookkeeper for Larry's Piggly Wiggly until her retirement in 2000. Since retirement, she and Luke spent the winter months in Arizona. Molle enjoyed playing games, especially Dominos, Cribbage and Sheephead. She was known for her cooking and baking and no one ever left the Hietpas home hungry. In addition to trips to the casino, she enjoyed spending time on the golf course and fishing at the family cottage in Crivitz. However, Molle's greatest joy in life was the time she spent with her grandchildren. Be it playing games, making the holidays extra special, or lending a listening ear, Molle lived for it all.
Evelyn is survived by her husband of 49 years, Luke; five sons, Jeff (Shirley), Kimberly; Jody (Lori), Little Chute; Jude (Vicki), Appleton; Jesse (Dena), Darboy; and Jayme (JoAnn), Kimberly; 12 grandchildren, Ryan (fiancee Katie), Tracy, Emily, Amy, Chelsea, Becki (fiance Jeremy), Mandi, Luke, Dylan, Sheila, Hannah and Kayla; great-grandson, Alex; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Joyce (Emmet) McMorrow, June Stuyvenberg, Helen (Russ) Harmon, Lois Hietpas, John (Shirley) Hietpas, Margaret (Carl) Peeters, Clare (Leon) Van Boxtel, Sheila (Clyde) Schepp, Mark (Linda) Hietpas, Tom (Sheila) Hietpas, and Michael (Jo) Hietpas. She is further survived by very special nieces, Faye, Connie, Kathy, Suzie, and many other nieces, nephews, family and friends.
In addition to her parents, Molle was preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Gordon Hietpas; father and mother-in-law, John and Elizabeth Hietpas; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Donald and Dorothy Hietpas, Robert Stuyvenberg, Claude Hietpas and Matthew Hietpas.
The Funeral Mass will be at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 13, 2007, at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, Little Chute. The Rev. James Hablewitz will officiate. Friends may call Tuesday after 2:30 p.m. until the time of the Mass directly at church. Committal St. John Cemetery, Little Chute. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Molle's name.
The family would like to thank the people at Martha Siekman Cancer Center, the volunteers at ThedaCare Hospice, especially Lynn, Terry and Charlie, for their kindness and compassion.
