- Peter Lawrence Lingl was reunited with his beloved wife on Aug. 7, 200 2. He passed away peacefully in his sleep after a long and courageous batt le with cancer. Peter was born on March 3, 1921, in the Township of Holland, Wis., to Karatrina Neitzer Lingl and Josef Lingl and was raised in Kauk auna, Wis. He married Barbara Marie Verstegen on Nov. 14, 1942, in Litt le Chute, Wis. Barbara preceded him in death in 1996.After serving with distinction in the United States Navy Submarine Servi ce during World War II, he moved with his family to the Green Bay, Wis. ar ea, where he raised six sons and two daughters. Pete retired from Nicol et Paper Company in 1990 after more than 25 years with the company. He a nd Barbara moved to Ventura, Calif., in 1990, where they loved to walk han d-in-hand on the beach at sunset. Despite the move, they always remained a vid Green Bay Packers fans.Peter is survived by his brother, Joseph Lingle, Eagle River, Wis.; siste r, Ann King, Kaukauna, Wis.; his daughters, Kaye Minor, Green Bay; and Pat ti (Rick) Teich, Janesville, Wis.; his sons, Jim (Anna-Lena) Lingl, Camari llo, Calif.; Bob (Regina) Lingl, Lompoc, Calif.; Jeff Lingl, Green Bay; Do nald J. Lingl, Little Suamico, Wis.; Peter (Michelle) Lingl, De Pere, Wis .; and Paul (Lisa) Lingl, Green Bay; as well as 14 grandchildren; 23 great -grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, friends and in-laws.Along with his parents and wife, Barbara, he was preceded in death by h is brother, John.Memorial services and internment will be at 11 a.m. on Aug. 24 at the Allo uez Catholic Cemetery Chapel and Mausoleum.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Institute .
