- Mary A. Weyers (Nee Coffey), 93, St. Paul Home, Kaukauna, died peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2007, at St. Paul Home.
She was born Jan. 6, 1914, to the late Michael and Elizabeth (Appleton) Coffey in Freedom.
Mary enjoyed cooking and baking and kept an immaculate house. She also liked reading. Mary belonged to Christian Mothers, Homemakers and bowling teams. She always made quilts for her grandchildren. The highlight of each year, was taking her grandchildren to the Seymour fair. At age 83, she fulfilled her lifelong dream of going to Ireland.
Mary wed Oliver Arnoldussen in 1935. He preceded her in death on Oct. 15, 1937. Together they had two daughters, Betty Walters, Kaukauna, and Patricia (James) Woods, Freedom, and their seven children, Debra (Mel) VerVoort, Amy Bradley, Bill (Debbie) Woods, Tom (fiancee, Paula Greeneway) Woods, Dan Woods, Bob (Mary) Woods, and Mary Beth (special friend, Greg Greiner) Woods as well as seven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
She wed Carl W. Engerson in 1946. He preceded her in death on Oct. 16, 1959. One stepson survives, Cal (Mary) Engerson, Mobile, Ala.; three grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Mary wed William F. Weyers on Nov. 6, 1965. He preceded her in death on June 20, 1984. Six stepchildren survive, Ronald (Mary) Weyers, Green Bay; Jim (Mary) Weyers, Townsend; Mary Ann (Vern) Kemp, Seymour; Judy (Dan) Raether, Little Suamico; Terry (Lois) Weyers, Oconto Falls; and Debbie (Randy) Peterson, Seymour; 21 grandchildren, and 36 great-grandchildren.
She is further survived by two sisters-in-law, Florian (Jack) Chambers and Margie Coffey; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her three husbands, six brothers and two sisters.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. on Saturday Aug. 11, 2007, at ST. NICHOLAS CATHOLIC CHURCH, Freedom, with Fr. David Hoffman officiating. Friends will be received on Saturday at church from 9 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. A memorial fund has been established in her name. The Boettcher Family Funeral Home, Kaukauna is assisting the family. 766-2099.
The family would like to thank the loving staff at the St. Paul Home for all the care and compassion they gave Mary during her stay.
