- Raphael Jacques, 87, Allouez, died Tuesday, July 24, 2007, at his home. He was born Sept. 30, 1919, to the late William and Mary (Delmont) Jacques. Ray served his country in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II. On May 3, 1943, he married Dorothy Van Schyndel in Green Bay; she preceded him in death Aug. 28, 2003. Ray enjoyed playing cards, spending time on the computer, and attending the Tuesday meetings of his De Pere men's club.
Survivors include his four children and their spouses, Carol and Roger Van Boxtel, Waukesha; Ronald and Carol Jacques, New Franken; Lawrence and Chris Jacques, Luxemburg; and Roger and Susann Jacques, De Pere; 14 grandchildren, Michael (Terry) Moder, Thom (Tammy) Moder, Cheryl Moder, Patrick (Claudia) Moder, Lisa Van Boxtel, Angela (Denis) Castillo, Amy (fiance, John Rohner) Van Boxtel, Tammy (Troy) Wielgus, Michelle Jacques, John (Kelly) Jacques, Nicholas Jacques, Timothy Jacques, Phillip Jacques, and Ronda Jacques; 11 great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Delores Van Schnydel and Peaches, his dog.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; one daughter, Dolores Moder; one brother, William; and one sister, Arlene Bumgartner.
Friends may call after 9:30 a.m., Friday, July 27, at St. Mary Catholic Community, 4805 Sportsman Drive, De Pere, where a Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Jack Harper officiating. Entombment in the Allouez Chapel Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
