- Mary Monn, age 89, passed away Tuesday, May 15, 2007, at Franciscan Care Center. She was born April 7, 1918, to the late Otto and Margaret (Dorschner) Eggert in Appleton. Mary married William Monn September 11, 1948, in Appleton. In her early years she loved to ice skate and bike. She worked at Zwicker's for many years. Mary was a charter member of St. Pius X Catholic Church. She was an avid reader, enjoyed sewing, cross stitching, walking, loved to play cards and spending time with her girlfriends. Most important was spending time with her family especially at the cottage on Berry Lake.
Mary is survived by her son, Charles W. (Peg) Monn Sr., Appleton; her grandchildren: Charles W. (Elena Hale) Monn, Jr., L.A.; Amy (Scott) Schnese, Kimberly; Andy Monn, L.A., and Peter Monn, Pleasant Prairie, WI; two greatgranddaughters: Emma and Kendra Schnese; brother-in-law, Donald Riggles. She is further survived by many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William; parents; brothers: Carl (Hildagard) Eggert and Lyle (Frances) Eggert; sisters and brothers-in-law: Dorothy (Howard) Patterson, Beatrice Riggles and Jaqueline Bleck.
Funeral services for Mary will be held at 3:30 p.m. Friday, May 18, 2007, at St. Pius X Catholic Church with Rev. Quinn Mann officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:30 p.m. until the time of service also at church. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Franciscan Care Center and ThedaCare at Home Hospice for their care of Mary.
