- Elsie Lou Kobs nee Miller (Knott), age 78, passed away on Saturday, October 15, 2011 at her home with her family by her side. She was born on Novemer 22, 1932 in Kaukauna daughter of the late Michael and Margaret (Lambie) Miller. In 1951 Elsie married Roy Knott Sr., the marriage produced 5 children Mike (Barb)and their family; Mary (Greg) Fox and their children Bret, Claire and Cody, Melanie Knott (Kristin VandenHouten), Melissa (Don) Hearn and their children Zoey and Kiley, Steve (Denise)and their family; Kelly Knott and her daughter Olivia, Nicole (Ethan) Jansen, Kasey (Chris) Van Groll, Kristin Knott, Lynn Knott and her son Shaun Knott (special friend Jessica Douglas and her children Tiffany, Michael and Natalee), Kay (Bob) Tucker and their family, Christine Gerhartz and her children Haylie and Cooper, her stepchildren Robbie (fiancé Shauna) Tucker and her children Dallas and Allen, Scott (Britney) Tucker and their children Brooklyn and Cash, Roy Jr.(Rose) Knott and his stepchildren Samantha Zierler and Christopher (Kristina) Trainer and their children Brook and Morgan.
On May 22, 1988 Elsie married David Kobs at Immanuel United Church of Christ in Kaukauna. The couple lived in Darboy their entire married lives.
She is further survived by her loving stepchildren; Terri Gravett-Kobs and her son Bryce, John (Cher) Kobs and their sons Travis and Tyler, Vicki (Douglas) Tessen and their children Kayla, Rachel and Jared, Brian Kobs and his son, Alex. Elsie was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, a hard working, caregiving individual.
Through the years she had been employed at North Shore, Butte Des Morts Country Club, Babe Van Kamps Supper Club, and ended her working years at Piggly Wiggly.
She was a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ. Elsie loved bowling, playing cards, traveling with her husband Dave, and the occasionally trip to the casino.
Elsie is further survived by her brothers Mike (Colleen) Miller, Ron (LaVerne) Miller, sisters-in-law Myrna Miller, LaVerne Miller and Mary Miller. Also surviving is a sister Lilly Mae Gerrits and numerous, nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her first husband Roy in 1998, 3 brothers Herb, William and Adam and a brother-in-law, Robert Gerrits.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at BOETTCHER FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 2401 Fieldcrest Dr., Kaukauna and again on Thursday directly at church from 11:30 a.m. until the time of service. Funeral services for Elsie will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 20, 2011 at IMMANUEL UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST, 510 Sullivan Ave., Kaukauna with Pastor Melinda Feller officiating.
