He was a World War I veteran, a member of the Holy Name Society, t he Catholic War Vets, The American Legion and also the Third Order of S t. Francis, Appleton. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Merlin (Mar y) Kelpinski, Appleton and Mrs. Harry (Gladys) Vanden Boogard, Kimberly; f ive sons, Robert, Fond du Lac; Eugene, Combined Locks; Vernon and Donal d, Appleton; Roger, Madison; 23 grandchildren. Two brothers, Fred Applet on and Norbert, Milwaukee; two sisters, Mrs. Theodore Liesgang, Seymour a nd Sister M. Josepha, St. Joseph's Home For Children, Green Bay. Funeral s ervice is Monday morning at 9 am at Holy Name Catholic Church, Kimberly, w ith burial in the parish cemetery.
