- Hemauer, Specialist Kyle MatthewSpecialist Kyle Matthew Hemauer, age 21 of Chilton died on May 23, 20 05 in Zabul, Afghanistan while serving his country with the 3rd Battalio n, 116th Infantry Regiment, 29th Infantry Division, Virginia Army Nation al Guard, of Manassas, VA. He was born February 4, 1984 in Fond du Lac, W I, son of Andy & Anne (Schmitz) Hemauer. Kyle attended Chilton Catholic Sc hool and graduated from Chilton High School in 2002 where he was acti ve in Tennis, and Football. He was currently attending the Apprenticesh ip School at Newport News where he also played football.Kyle was an active member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Chilton, and t he Army National Guard. This "gentle giant" was a humble man with a warm s mile and a big heart who loved his family and was equally loved by them.He is survived by his parents, Andy and Anne of Chilton; maternal grandfat her, Alvin Schmitz of Johnsburg; and two brothers, Brad and Lucas Hemau er of Chilton. Kyle is further survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, other r elatives and friends.He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Martina Schmitz; pat ernal grandparents, Gilbert and Veronica Hemauer; and an infant brother, N athan Hemauer.Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday June 2, 2005 at St. Mary 's Catholic Church in Chilton. Burial will follow with military rites at t he Parish Cemetery. Friends may call at Wieting Family Funeral Home (4 11 W. Main St.) in Chilton from 3 - 8 p.m. on Wednesday June 1, 2005 a nd on Thursday at the funeral home from 8 - 9 a.m. when family prayers wi ll be held. A memorial fund has been established in the name of Speciali st Kyle Matthew Hemauer.Kyle believed what he was doing, serving his country, was what was best f or the continued safety and protection of the people he loved so dearly: h is family, friends and fellow countrymen.
