The date is clearly written as May 15, 1895, BUT all the entries on the page are for 1896, so likely that the wrong year was recorded. So most likely the real date of death is May 15, 1896. Corresponcence; The birth date in our index is what's reflected on the birth record in our collection. Our Brown County death records only go through volume 4, but I did find the death record in Brown County, Volume 2, p 385. The death date is written clearly as May 5, 1895. But all the other records on this page are for 1896. It appears to be another case of human error.
