- Ray J. Romenesko FreedomAge 77, passed away surrounded by his family on Saturday, June 3, 20 00 at Appleton Medical Center. Ray was born May 11, 1923 in Freedom, the s on of the late Walter and Mabel (Newhouse) Romenesko. He lived and farm ed in the Freedom area all of his life. Ray was united in marriage to LaVe rne Weyenberg on September 1, 1945, sharing 53 years together before her d eath on December 11, 1998. He was a veteran of World War II, serving wi th the U.S. Army in Europe. Ray will be remembered as a kind and gentle m an who loved his family and who had a special place in his heart for his g randchildren. He enjoyed playing cards with his brothers, including his "a dopted" brothers and fishing with his buddies up north. Ray was a memb er of St. Nicholas Catholic Church of Freedom. Survivors include two daugh ters: Donna (Dick) Vande Wettering, Suring; Mary Kay (Jim) Meulemans, Free dom; two sons: Mike (Patti) Romenesko, Freedom; Chris Romenesko and his sp ecial friend, Barb Kolitsch, Green Bay; a daughter-in-law, Carolyn Romenes ko, Kaukauna; nine grandchildren: Jim Romenesko, Kevin (Lori) Skenandor e, Joey (Tracy) Skenandore, Kelly Skenandore, Lori (Craig) Hansen, Lisa Me ulemans and her fiancee, Ed Eastman, Kristi, Connie and Todd (Shari) Romen esko; three great-grandchildren: Taylor and Sierra Skenandore and Nathan L ang; seven brothers: Ken (Rose) Romenesko, Appleton; Orv (Issy) Romenesk o, Freedom; Bob (Eunice) Romenesko, Kaukauna; Merle (Rose) Romenesko, Walw orth; Jerry (Pat) Romenesko, Appleton; Clyde (Margaret) Romenesko; De Per e; Vernon (Barb) Romenesko; Appleton; two sisters-in-law: Betty Stilp, Kau kauna; Patty (Gary) Vande Wettering, Hollandtown. In addition to his paren ts and wife, Ray was preceded in death by a son, Patrick "Humper" Romenesk o; a daughter, Joann Romenesko and sister, Arlene Vosters. The Mass of Res urrection will be celebrated 12 noon Tuesday, June 6 at St. Nicholas Catho lic Church in Freedom with Father Dennis Ryan officiating. Burial wi ll be in St. Nicholas Cemetery. Friends may call at the Brettschneider-Tre ttin-Lederer Funeral Chapel from 4-8 p.m. Monday and then at from 9 a.m. T uesday until 11:30 at which time the cortege will leave for the church. T he parish prayer service will be 7:30 p.m. Monday. A memorial fund has be en established.The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Wm.
