- Robert F. Beyer, Shiocton, age 79 passed away on Monday, April 12, 2004 at New London Family Medical Center in New London following a short illness. He was born on May 21, 1924 in Shiocton. Son of the late Frank and Adela (Schroeder) Beyer. On Nov. 19, 1947 he married the former Erna Suprise in Bear Creek. Robert was a resident of Shiocton all of his life. He proudly served in WWII with the Army Air Corps from 1943 to 1946 for three years, one month and three days. His tour of duty included Australia, New Guinea and Philippines. Robert farmed and worked for the American Toy and Furniture in Hortonville for over 30 years. He enjoyed traveling with his wife prior to her death on October 23, 1992 and uniting with his service buddies of the Fighting 49th Squadron. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren and all his cronies at Dick and Jeanni's Restaurant in Shiocton.
He is survived by two daughters: Ann Kaiserling, New London; Melissa Wolff, Shiocton; four sons: Wayne (special friend JoAnn McFarland) Beyer, Pleasanton, TX; Nathan (Jeanne) Beyer, Menasha; Chris (Vicki) Beyer, Greenville; Alan (Terri) Beyer, New London; grandchildren: Mark (Julie) Beyer, Neenah; Mike Beyer, Oshkosh; Bill Kaiserling, Milwaukee; Julie Kaiserling, Milwaukee; Mandy (Aaron) Seymour, Menasha; Michelle Beyer, Greenville, Trisha Schmitz, Greenville; Ashley Rose Beyer, Shiocton; Amy Beyer, Greenville; Adam Mahon, Shiocton; Megan Fabish, Greenville; Travis Wolff, Shiocton; C.J. Beyer, New London; Allie Wolff, Shiocton, Alanna Beyer, New London; Carissa Beyer, Greenville; great grandchildren: Nathan and A.J. Beyer, Neenah; Emma Seymour, Menasha; and Lexi Beyer, Oshkosh. Two brothers: Donald (Bonita) Beyer, Shiocton, Roy (Patti) Beyer, Winneconne; a sister Carol (Earl) Luedtke, Neenah, also many nieces and nephews further survive Robert. He is preceded in death by his wife Erna, his parents, two sisters: LaVerne Beyer and Doris Beyer, a brother Russell Beyer, a sister in-law Eileen Beyer, a brother in-law Darwin Suprise, father in-law and mother in-law Bill and Lillian Surprise.
Funeral services will be held at the Messiah Lutheran Church in Shiocton at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 15, 2004 with Rev. William Favorite officiating. Burial will be at the Bovina Cemetery in Shiocton. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 14, 2004 at the Borchardt & Moder Funeral Home in Shiocton and at the church on Thursday from 9 a.m. until the time of service. Military graveside rites will be held.
