- Vanden Boogart, Robert "Bob" "Bogie"
On Friday, September 19, Bob A. Vanden Boogart passed from earthly life to eternal life at St. Elizabeth Hospital with his family at his side. Born August 2, 1928, to the late Arnold and Margaret (Romenesko) Vanden Boogart-Vanden Heuvel, Bob lived in Little Chute until 2012, was a member of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, graduating from St. John High School in 1946. Stationed with the Army in Berlin, Germany, during the air-lift, Bob served in General Clay's honor guard. On April 11, 1950, he was united in marriage with Gloria Verwey, who preceded him in death on January 24, 2011. Bob was the youngest trustee to have served on the Little Chute Village Board. Through the years, Bob enjoyed hunting, fishing, pitching horseshoes at Jerry Kamps', and became an avid golfer. He also was a fan of the Packers, Badger, and Brewers. For 25 years Bob and Gloria treasured the time spent "up north" on Lake John. As maintenance Scheduler at the now Appleton Coated-Locks Mill, Bob retired in 1988.
Bob is survived by his children: Sharon "Cher" (Jim) Vissers, Appleton; Rick (Jane) Vanden Boogart, Little Chute; Jay (Kathy) Vanden Boogart, Beaver Dam; Scott Vanden Boogart, Appleton; Todd (Shawn) Vanden Boogart, Darboy; David (Janel) Vanden Boogart, Darboy; Kim (Enzo) Mancuso, Kennesaw, GA; grandchildren: Eric Vissers, Amy Torpen, Lisa Fuzak, Matthew and Andrew Vanden Boogart, Kailey Bauer, Robert, Anthony, Travis, Ashley, Dana, and Morgan Vanden Boogart, Garrett and Logan Nelson, Chiara and Marco Mancuso; great-grandchildren: Mikayla, Allison, Johnny, James, Addison, Harlow, and Drew; sister Dorothy (Walter) Rutten, sister-in-law, Martha Vanden Boogart, and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Laurie Vissers; grandson, Adam Vissers; infant brother, Jerome; sister, Lorraine (Peter) Van Lankvelt; brother, Martin Vanden Boogart, and daughter-in-law, Sally (Strutz) Vanden Boogart.
The Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, September 23, at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church at 11:00 am. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery, Little Chute. Visitation will be held before the Mass from 9:00-11:00 at the church. Condolences may be expressed by visiting www.verkuilenfh.com. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established.
