- Gertrude Griswold, of Neenah, age 88, passed away at Colony Oaks Care Center in Appleton on Sunday, September 30, 2007. The former Gertrude Albert was born on July 11, 1919, in Kaukauna to the late Carl and Elsie (Paschen) Albert. She was a graduate of Kaukauna High School class of 1937.
Gertrude was a very loving mother, grandmother, great- grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She was a wonderful homemaker and enjoyed reading and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Gertrude will be sadly missed by her three daughters and one son: Judy Fowler, Appleton; Gary (Jackie) Griswold, Waupaca; Marcia (James) Reinhardt, Greenville; Amy (Joseph) Nicholas, Poy Sippi; sister, Esther Tremel, Wausau; brother, Richard (Catherine) Albert, Normal, Illinois; sister-in-law, Alice Albert, De Pere; brother-in-law, Edward Kaphingst; stepson, Russell Griswold, Port Washington; stepdaughter, Lenora (James) Cherney, Oakland, Michigan; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; former husband, Russell Griswold; son, Carl; daughter, Eileen Boe; brother, Melvin Albert; sisters, Marion Kaphingst and Elaine Kuhn.
A note of special thanks to Colony Oaks for taking such good care of Gertrude over the last few months.
The family will hold a private memorial service. Internment will be at Highland Memorial Park in Appleton.
Mom, We love you very much and you will be deeply missed! You will be in our hearts, thoughts and prayers forever.
