- Celine A. Romenesko, (nee Wittmann), Darboy, age 79, passed away on Sunday, September 22, 2013 at St. Elizabeth Hospital with her family by her side. She was born November 1, 1933 to the late Hugo and Anna (Mader) Wittmann, in Darboy, where she proudly resided most of her life. Celine attended Holy Angel's School and graduated from St. John's High School. She married her high school sweetheart, Bill Romenesko in June of 1953 at Holy Angel's Church. Celine's life was her family. She started many traditions years ago that we still celebrate today. She was also very proud of her parish family at Holy Angel's Church in Darboy; dedicated in the publishing of two parish history books, (1975 and 2000), and was also known as the "unofficial historian" of Darboy. In 1993, Celine joined the St. Francis Fraternity. Celine was proud of her heritage in Darboy. Being a member of the board, her mission was to have Darboy become a village, she witnessed this to become a reality.
Celine is survived by her husband of 60 years, Bill, daughter, Sheila (Dick) DeValk, their children, Travis (Magan) DeValk, Anna (Troy) Frederickson, Maggie (Kevin) McGinty, and Luke (Lisa) DeValk; son, Keith "Kos" and his children, Jude (Erin) Simons, Nikki (Ken) Evans, Celina, Keith and Colin Romenesko; son, Jay; and son-in-law, Kevin Minton and his son, Josh Minks, and 12 great-grandchildren. She is further survived by her sister, Betty Van Thiel; brother, Hugo (Patty) Wittmann; brothers-in-law: Maynard (Rosann) Romenesko, Wes Romenesko, Dan (Gerry) Romenesko, Gary (Adele) Romenesko; sisters-in-law: Betty (Matt) Hupher, Pat (Rog) Hermsen; and numerous nieces, nephews, and many close friends.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Denice Minton; sisters: Dorothy and Lois; Bill's parents, Joseph and Barbara Romenesko; sisters-in-law: "Mackey" Wittmann, Jill Wittmann, Aggie Romenesko; brother-in-law, Ted Van Thiel; and niece, Gina Wittmann.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 12:00 Noon on Thursday, September 26, 2013 at HOLY SPIRIT PARISH at Holy Angels Church, Darboy. Friends may call on Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at BOETTCHER FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 2401 Fieldcrest Dr., Kaukauna from 3:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. with a parish prayer service concluding the evening. Friends may call again on Thursday directly at church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery.
