- Nicholas S. Verhagen, 353 Fir st St. Neenah; Age 79, died Friday, November 4th, 1988, following a six mo nth illness with cancer. He was born December 25th, 1908, in Freedo m, to Louis and Mary Romanesko Verhagen. He married Margaret Burke on Aug ust 9th, 1932, in Kaukauna. Mr. Verhagen was employed by the Kimberly-Cla rk Corp. for 38 years before retiring in 1971; and was a member of their Q uarter Century Club. He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Ma nasha; and he was a lay distributor of the church. He was a member of t he Menasha Senior Center and a director of the Sunbeam Singers, the Old Go ats Club, the S P E B S Q S A Appleton Barber Shop chapter, and organiz ed St. Margaret Mary Cub Scout troop. Survivors include his wife, Margare t; a daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and John Towns, Neenah; two sons a nd a daughter in law: David and Rose Mary Verhagen, of Neenah; Dennis a nd Linda Verhagen, Appleton; 15 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildre n. He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers; five sister s; and a daughter in law, Margaret (Hermes) Verhagen. The funeral servi ce will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Kessler funeral home, a nd at 11:00 a.m. in St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Menasha, with Fath er Roy Geenen officiating. Internment will be in St. Margaret Cemetery, N eenah.

- Miss Margaret Burke, daughter of John Burke. Sr., 222 "W. Eighth-st. was married to Nicholas Verhagen. son of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Verhagen, Little Chute, at 8 o'clock Tuesday morning in St. Mary Catholic church. The Rev. A. Roder officiated. Attendants were Miss Jeanette Burke sister of the bride, and Peter Verhagen, brother of the bridegroom. A wedding breakfast was served at the home of the bride's father, and the couple were guests at a dancing party at the Nitingale ballroom Tuesday evening. The couple will reside at Little Chute.
