- Denese M. Rieth, Kaukauna, age 86, passed away on Sunday, August 10, 2014 at Appleton Medical Center. She was born on July 16, 1928 in Askeaton, daughter of the late Emmett and Viola (Baine) Clancy. On June 19, 1948 she was united in marriage to John Rieth and together they celebrated 51 years of marriage. Denese enjoyed fishing, playing cribbage, and gardening.
She is survived by her 4 children: Nancy Pomeroy, Susie (Fred) Steger, Thomas (Cathy) Rieth and Daniel (Cheryl) Rieth; 12 grandchildren: Lisa (David) Loritz, Casey (Amy) Clark, Toby (Jackie) Clark, Kelly Vanden Elzen, Brady Pomeroy, Ben (Becky) Steger, Candi (Matt) Teske, Amber Steger, Reba (Jake) Vandeloo, Nick Rieth, Jake (Alicia) Rieth, and Ryan Rieth; 17 great-grandchildren; a sister, Marion Schreck, 3 sisters-in-law: Jane Clancy, Mary Clancy, and Betty Clancy. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, John, 3 sisters, and 4 brothers.
The Memorial Mass for Denese will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at HOLY CROSS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 309 Desnoyer St., Kaukauna with Fr. Tom Pomeroy officiating. Friends will be received directly at church on Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of mass. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established.
