- Regina H. Driessen, Little Chute, age 87, died peacefully Monday, January 19, 2009, at St. Elizabeth Hospital. She was born in Kaukauna on December 17, 1921, to the late John and Bernice (Vanden Boom) Janssen. Regina married Robert "Bob" Driessen on May 25, 1943, at Holy Cross Parish, Kaukauna. Regina was a loving wife, best friend to Bob, and a wonderful mother and grandmother. She lived her life simply with eloquence and grace. During her life she enjoyed being a homemaker, cooking, baking, camping and playing cards with her family and friends. Her other hobbies included golfing, bowling, knitting and vacationing in Gulf Shores, Alabama. She will be dearly missed by all who loved her.
Regina is survived by her husband of 65 years, Bob; six children: Sharon (Paul) Sprangers, Colville, WA; Gary (Chris), San Antonio, TX; Keith (Paula), Little Chute; Debra (Steve) Mollen, Darboy; Mary (John) Eimmerman, Darboy; and John (Amy), De Pere; 20 grandchildren: Stephanie (Mark) Sprangers-Johnson, Kristin (Eric) Genoway, Todd (Amy), Tim (Meredith), and Mike Sprangers, Barry (Heather), Gregg and Brett Mollen, Sarah (Nicholas) Berger, David Eimmerman, Jeramie, Eric (Charmaine), Paul (Marci), Jonathan (Tanya), Craig (Shanna), Kevin (Kate), Mark (Monie), Ryan (Beth), Emily and Kyle Driessen; 20 great-grandchildren; a sister: Arlene Eake; a sister-in-law: Eva Janssen; and Bob's brother and sister: Ken (Joan) Driessen and Pat Jansen. Many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends further survive her.
In addition to her parents, Regina was preceded in death by two granddaughters, Angie Lea and Natasha; one great-granddaughter, Anna; brothers and sister: Clifford (Shirley) and Floyd Janssen, Rosalie Collier and infant brother Francis; her father and mother-in-law: Joseph M. and Catherine Driessen; and brothers and sisters-in-law: Fred (Marion) Driessen, Dorothy (Vince) Godschalx, Barb (Dave) Hartman and Jim Jansen.
Visitation will be held Thursday January 22, 2009, at ST. JOHN NEPOMUCENE CATHOLIC CHURCH (323 S. Pine St., Little Chute) beginning at 2 p.m. until the time of Mass at 5 p.m. The Rev. James Hablewitz will officiate. Committal will be at St. John Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established.
