  Clifford L. Bungert Sr., age 99, of Hortonville, died Monday March 29, 2004 at his residence. He was born February 18, 1905 in the Town of Ellington son of the late Ora & Otillie (Riehl) Bungert. On November 21, 1936, he married the former Alma Duffek in Waukegan, Illinois. She preceded him in death on February 15, 2003. Clifford farmed in the Town of Center, Outagamie County all his life. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and also telling tall tales. He was a member of Emanuel Ev. Lutheran Church in New London. He is survived by 3 daughters: Betty (John) Moeller, New London; Janice (Sam) Sykes, Black Creek; Sheri Schabo, Appleton; 2 sons: Kenny Bungert, Hortonville; Clifford (Barb) Bungert Jr., Hortonville; grandchildren: Keith (Sue) Moeller, Bonnie (Tim) Krause, Steve Moeller and his fiancee Jennifer, Brian Moeller, Lori (Mike) Ritchie, Connie (Dennis) Rohloff, Sam Sykes, Bob Sykes and his special friend Missy, Dan Sykes, Patti (Scott) Beck, Cindi Bungert and her fiance Mike, Pam (Bill) Block, Chad Bungert and his special friend Tracy, and Carrie Bungert and her fiance Nathan, great-grandchildren: Lacey and Jessica Moeller, Harley and Zack Krause, Tracey, Jodie and Nicole Ritchie, Brooke and Brandon Rohloff, Tori Beck, Jacob and Amanda Ricker, Jesse Riske, B.J. and Ansley Block, Annaliyah Seelow; also 3 sisters-in-law: Lida Hardy, Greenville; Lorraine McCarthy, Appleton; Irene Bungert, Appleton. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends further survive him. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Alma, two brothers: Lloyd and Mahlon Bungert, also a son-in-law Don Schabo. The Christian Funeral for Clifford will be held on Wednesday, March 31, 2004 at 1 p.m. at Emanuel Ev. Lutheran Church in New London with Rev. William Favorite officiating. Burial will be in Emanuel Lutheran Cemetery in New London. Friends may call directly at the church on Wednesday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service.
