- HENRY SCHABO HURT IN AUTO COLLISION
Injuries Received When Car Crashes Head on into Moving Van May Prove Fatal
Henry Schabo, 60, 113 E. Summer- St, is reported to be near death In St. Elizabeth hospital as the result of an accident about 11 o'clock Wednesday morning on Highway 10 a mile west of the city limits when the car he was driving collided with a heavy moving van belonging to the Wolf and Pepper Transfer company of Kau Claire. K D. Dickens. Jr. driver of the truck. received a scalp wound and his father. E. D. Dickens. Sr.. who was riding In the truck with his son, rec- eived minor injuries. The younger Mr. Dickens was taken to St. Elizabeth hospital but released a short time later.
Witnesses said Mr. Schabo on his way to the Greunke sand-pit a short distance away, had turned to the left side of the road to pass the car of John Freude, a mailman, who had stopped to place some mail in the box of Henry Bast. As he reached the left side of the road the heavy truck collided headon with his machine and Schabo's car as carried 40 or 50 feet. Pieces of the smaller machine were strewn all along the road. The truck then wont Into the ditch and turned on its side. The front end of the truck was dam- aged and Schabo's car is a complete wreck. Roy Schabo, a son of the Injured man. was driving a truck in the rear of his father's car and saw the accident. Mr. Schabo suffered nine broken ribs and a broken arm, his left lung was punctured, he has several deep gashes on his head and his left side badly cut. Attending physicians hold ittle hope for his recovery.

- HENRY SGHABO NOT EXPECTED TO LIVE - AFTER AUTO CRASH
Attending Physicians Hold Little Hope for Recovery of Local Man
Physicians attending Henry Schabo, 60, 115 E. Summer-St, Injured in an automobile accident on Highway 10 a mile west of the city limits Wednesday morning, do not expect he will recover. His condition was very grave at 1 o'clock Thursday after- noon." District Attorney John A. Lonsdorf announced Thursday morning, there would be complete investigation to the accident in which Mr. Schabo was, injured. Schabo's car collided with a heavy furniture truck, owned by the "Wolf and Pepper Transfer company of, Eau Claire. This machine was completely demolished and the front end of. the truck was badly damaged. The truck traveled 130 feet after the collision and tipped over in the ditch. E. D. Dickens. Jr.. driver of the truck, received a scalp wound which was dressed at St. Elizabeth hospital. His father, E. D. Dickens. Sr., riding in the truck, was not injured.
