- Gene "Joe" Stommel, 61, 4736 Freds Lane, Rudolph, died Friday, Sept. 10, 2010, at Ministry St. Michael's Hospital in Stevens Point.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday at 6 p.m. at Shuda Funeral Chapel in Stevens Point.
Visitation will be at the funeral chapel from 4 p.m. Tuesday until the service.

Mr. Stommel was born March 2, 1949, in the town of Wisconsin Rapids, a son of Eugene and Patricia (Graesser) Stommel. As a child his family moved to Milwaukee and returned to the Rudolph area with his family when he was 12 years old. The family began operating a dairy farm in Rudolph where he worked until finishing school.
He was married to Susan Engebretson in 1969. They later divorced.
After graduation he worked in the retail industry until 1977, returning to the dairy farm where he worked with his dad until 1995.
He was married to Elizabeth "Beth" Andrews on Sept. 16, 1995.
The couple settled in Rudolph and both were currently working at the Stevens Point Care Center, where he was a CNA-Medication Tech.
Survivors include his wife; six daughters, Jennifer (Chad) Cournoyer, Rudolph, Robyn (Matt) Bowholtz and Marsha (Jim) Feist, both of Plover, Julie (Mike) Korslin, Wisconsin Rapids, and Renee (Josh) Firkus and Heidi (Richard) Blair, both of Stevens Point; one son, Eric (Amanda), Plainfield; his parents, Rudolph; three sisters: Debra Bloedorn, town of Hull, Sandy (Kyle) Wagoner, Custer, and Dawn Stommel, Stevens Point; two brothers, Gary (Vicky), Burkesville, Ky., and Mike (Kim), Hubertus; and 11 grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by one sister, Sharon Worzalla; and one granddaughter, Cora Stommel.
