- Marilyn J. Vander Hyden, 82, Menasha, passed away on Friday, Jan. 4, 2008, at Prairie Home Elder Care in Menasha. Marilyn was born Sept. 23, 1925, in Neenah, the daughter of the late Joseph and Anne (Lingnofski,) Jaskolski. She married James Vander Hyden on Nov. 28, 1946. He preceded her in death on Nov. 1, 1988. Marilyn had worked in Washington, D.C., for the FBI, then moved to the area and worked at American Can for many years until her first son was born. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, was a member of the Catholic Daughters, the CYO Club and the young ladies Sodality Club. Marilyn loved taking walks and riding her bike. She enjoyed reading and going sailing with her husband.
Marilyn is survived by her children, Rod (Sue) Vander Hyden, Menasha; Larry (Karen) Vander Hyden, Menasha; Wendy (Tom) Kiesow, Clayton; Becky (Timothy) Chaltry, Greenville. She is further survived by 12 grandchildren, Laurie, Kevin, Steven, Adam, Melissa, Tiffany, Josh, Jason, Brittany, Brooke, Arianna, Timothy Jr.; and eight great-grandchildren. Marilyn is also survived by her sister, Irene (Gregory) Resch, Menasha.
She was preceded in death by her son, Peter; her brother, Vernon; and her sister, Lorraine Heitl.
Funeral services for Marilyn will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2008, at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 320 Nicolet Blvd., Menasha, with Father Paul Radetski officiating. Burial will be in St. Margaret Cemetery Neenah. Friends and family will be received at the church on Tuesday morning from 10 a.m. until the hour of the funeral mass.
