- Cyril (Bud) KlisterBud Klister entered the seminary after high school. While he enjoyed the c ommunity spirit and educational formation, he decided the priesthood was n ot for him."I pursued other paths," he said. "There was always parish involveme nt in some capacity. Marriage, family and work kept me busy, so when it (d iaconate) was a possibility, I did not think about it. Years later, one ev ening after a Renew group, our pastor asked me if I thought about the diac onate.""I tried to forget the question, but somehow it seemed to haunt me. Aft er talking it over with my wife, I decided to give it a try."Klister, who was born in Hollandtown, has served Holy Name Parish in Kimbe rly over the last 15 years in Baptismal preparation, hospital visitatio n, RCIA, religious education, Renew, parish school board, parish represent ative on the Xavier High School board, Communion distributor, Confirmatio n, and lector.He looks forward to assisting at Mass, Baptisms, weddings and prayer, Comm union and wake services."One of my favorite passages from the prophet Micah has become my motto, ' All you have to do is act justly, love tenderly, and walk humbly with yo ur God,'" he said. "I try to rehearse these words so that I will rememb er them as I serve as a deacon."Klister and his wife, Dolores, have two sons. He is the executive direct or of Kaukauna Housing Authority, and is also enrolled in the master of th eological studies program at St. Norbert College, De Pere.
