- Charlotte J. Meating, age 87, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, December 14, 2010. Charlotte was born on December 21, 1922, in Weyauwega daughter of the late William and Bessie Behnke. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, reading and playing solitary. Charlotte formerly worked at the Hortonville Toy Factory and Hillshire Farm (SaraLee), New London. She was a longtime member of Emanuel Lutheran Church, New London.
She is survived by a son, George Jr. (Janet) Meating, New London; six grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, her best friend Viola, and her many friends at Franklin Park Apartments.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George in 1983; a daughter, Lois, a son Gerald, grandson, Michael, great grandson, James, a brother, Harold and three sisters, Alice, Eileen and Jean.
Funeral services for Charlotte will be held on Friday, December 17, 2010, at 11 a.m. at Emanuel Lutheran Church, New London with Rev Marcus Schulz officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 9 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in the Floral Hill Cemetery, New London.
