- See Image Powers, Joan J. (nee Kelly) 1 00 E. 13th KaukaunaAge 72, passed away Saturday morning, December 29, 2001 in Milwaukee follo wing a long illness. She was born December 4, 1929 in Menomonee, Michiga n; daughter of A.J. and Gertrude (Dugan) Kelly. Joan attended and graduat ed from St. Patrick Grade School and St. Joseph Academy in Green Bay. On S eptember 30, 1950 she married Wilfred Powers at St. Patrick Catholic Churc h, Green Bay. The couple lived in Kaukauna their entire married lives. Jo an worked for the Bank of Kaukauna for ten years. She enjoyed collecting c ook books, playing cards and bingo. Joan especially enjoyed spending ti me with the grandchildren. She was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Churc h, where she was a Past President of the Parish Council and was a memb er of the VFW Auxiliary Posts 3319.Survivors include her husband, Wilfred "Wolfie", Kaukauna; a daughter a nd son-in-law, Kelly Ann (Jon) Johnson, Madison; a son and daughter-in-la w, Brian (Michelle) Powers, Appleton; and Dr. Jeff (Valerie) Palarski (wh om she always considered part of the family), Roscoe, Illinois; two grandc hildren, Brittany and Erin Powers; her mother, Gertrude Kelly, Kaukauna. S he is further survived by her husband's family: Richard (Marie) Powers, Ap pleton; Sherman (Patty) Powers, Denton, Texas; and Al Zirbel, Wrightstow n; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, A .J.; and a son, Michael.Funeral services will be held 11:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Aloysius Cathol ic Church, Kaukauna with Fr. David Schmidt officiating. Burial in Holy Cro ss Cemetery, Kaukauna. Friends may call at BOETTCHER FAMILY FUNERAL HOM E, 2401 Fieldcrest Dr., Kaukauna from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and after 10: 30 a.m. Thursday directly at the church until the time of services. The re will be a parish prayer service at 7 p.m. Wednesday. A memorial fund h as been established in her name.The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at the ICU at St. El izabeth Hospital, Appleton and St. Joseph Hospital, Milwaukee and al so to the staff of Life Care Specialties in Milwaukee and Fesenius Medic al Care (Dialysis Unit) in Appleton. Also sincere appreciation goes to D r. Alan Cherkasky, Kaukauna.
