- Our beautiful mother and role model passed to eternal rest on January 18, 2014. Beloved wife and best friend of Paul Kreul (deceased) for 59 years. Loving mother of Mary Kreul, Jean Kreul, John Kreul (Connie Tellock), Anne Kreul (Philip Jaeger-deceased), Thomas Kreul (Catherine). Awesome grandmother of John (special friend Sarah), Caroline (special friend Andrew), and Erin Kreul. Rose Mary is also survived by her sister Joan (Olk) Dockter, sisters-in-law June Olk, Barbara Olk, Grace (Kreul) Miller, Mary (Kreul) Hebgen (fiance Joe), and Aunt Bernadine Olk. Further survived by nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, numerous cousins, and many friends.
Preceded in death by parents Bernard and Floy (Schwarz) Olk, siblings Charles Olk, Audrey Olk, Loretta (Olk) Allen, and Vincent Olk; brothers-in-law Gordon Allen and Clifford Dockter; parents-in-law Urban and Margaret Kreul, brothers and sisters-in-law Andrew and Magdalen Laubmeier, John and Mary Kreul, Francis Kreul, Kathryn (Kreul) and William Costello; Merle Hudek, Clifford Steffen, Ronald Hebgen, and Albert Miller.
She retired from St. Joseph's Residence, New London, WI after many years of dedicated service.
Rose Mary was a lifelong member of Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and a member of the Council of Catholic Women; a graduate of St. Mary's School of Nursing, Milwaukee, WI; and proudly served on the Outagamie County Board.
Rose Mary enjoyed family get-togethers, travel, playing cards, and visiting with friends of all ages. She also enjoyed her bridge club. Rose Mary was a long time member of the Thursday morning Ladies and Couples Leagues at Grandview Golf Course.
A Memorial Mass for Rose Mary will be held on Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church with Msgr. Jim Feely, Fr. Loran Miller and Parish Director Greg Layton officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery in the spring. A gathering of family and friends will take place directly at the church on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to: Ss Peter & Paul Catholic Church (PO. Box 238, Hortonville, WI 54944), the Salvatorian Mission Warehouse (1303 Milwaukee St.. New Holstein, WI 53061), or the Hortonville Area Food Pantry (N848 Industrial Dr., Hortonville, WI 54944).
Mom was always there for us and our friends, as well as for all who needed her. Her wise counsel and caring for others will always be an example for us.
