- DeBruin, JoeJoe De Bruin age 51, of Winchester, died Thursday, April 8, 2004. He was b orn February 17, 1953 in Appleton, Wisconsin to Erv and Millie (Verhage n) De Bruin. Joe grew up in Kaukauna and was a graduate of the Universi ty of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. He married Mary Halvorson on June 18, 1977 at t he Newman Center in Oshkosh. Joe was employed with Kimberly-Clark for t he past 19 years and had volunteered many hours to Mounte Alverno Retre at Center in Appleton. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Winn econne.Joe was a loving husband and father and is survived by his wife of 26 year s, Mary De Bruin, of Winchester; and daughter, Sara De Bruin, a stude nt at Marquette University. He is also survived by his parents, Erv and Mi llie De Bruin, of Kimberly; sisters and brothers, Sr. Diana "Mary" De Brui n, of Milwaukee; Ann (Tom) Vandenberg, of Little Chute; Jane (Rob) Sieber s, of California; Bill De Bruin, of Combined Locks; Kathy (Jeff) Sinclai r, of Milwaukee; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, John and Eileen Halv orson; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, John P. Halvorson, Joseph (Kath y) Halvorson, Margaret (Keith) Emich, Patty (Mark) Nimmer; nieces and neph ews, Rebecca, Katie, and Laura Vandenberg; Matt, Andy, Maggie, and Emma Si nclair; Michael, Kevin, and Elise De Bruin; David, Alex, Andrew, and Melis sa Nimmer.Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 12, 2004 at 7:00 p.m. at S t. Mary Catholic Church, 210 Pleasant Drive, Winneconne, with Fr. Leroy Sm et, Fr. Kieran Hickey, and Deacon Orville De Bruin concelebrating. Inurnme nt will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Appleton. Family and friends may ca ll on Monday at the church from 4:00 p.m. until the hour of services.In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Joe's nam e. To continue on with Joe's generosity that he showed throughout his lif e, his family saw to it that he was a tissue donor. Joe lived to make t he world more beautiful whether it was in his backyard, through his musi c, or through the people he touched throughout his life. Joe's eyes were a lways on heaven and his profound faith inspired and touched everyone arou nd him.
