- Mabel V. Immel, 85, New London, passed away on Friday, Sept. 25, 2009, at the New London Family Medical Center. She was born on June 23, 1924, in Kimberly, daughter of the late Abel and Vivian (Scherlock) Gasper. On Dec. 23, 1944, she married Victor Immel in Menasha. He preceded her in death in 1971. She formerly worked at Simmons Juvenile Products for 20 years and Midtown Restaurant for four years.
She is survived by four daughters: Dawn Bolssen, Northport; Wanda (Jim) Gurholt, Appleton; Cindy (Robert) Croke, Fremont; Robin Immel, Waupaca; three sons: Victor (June) Immel, Appleton; Leo Immel, New London; Randis (Karen) Immel, New London; two sisters: Mary Rusch, Appleton; Margaret (Henry) Drews, Sheboygan. Mabel is further survived by 25 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband, Mabel was preceded in death by a daughter, Cheryl; three brothers, Merton, Raymond and James; two sisters, Rose Pulera and Lois Bleck.
The funeral service for Mabel will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 28, 2009, at Emanuel Lutheran Church in New London, with the Rev. Brian Hennig officiating. Visitation will be at the church on Monday from 9 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will be in the Riverside Cemetery in Appleton.
