- Lila C. Strong, age 74, of Hortonville, went to her heavenly home on Monday, October 15, 2012, at Rennes Health Care Center in Appleton. Lila was born on October 8, 1938, in the Town of Stephensville, Outagamie County, daughter of the late Clyde Jr. and Gladys (Kaddatz) Main. She was united in marriage to Dean Strong. He preceded her in death in 2002. Lila worked at Appleton Papers for over 20 years, retiring in the late 1990's. She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran church in Hortonville. Lila enjoyed spending time in her woods up north in Phelphs and time with her family.
Lila is survived by her children, Sherry (Onie) Walker, Green Bay, Barb (Tom) Seidel, Fond du Lac, and Jeff (Amy) Strong, Appleton; eight grandchildren, Evlynn, Kendra, Leah, Thomas, Alison, Cara (Mark) Truckey, Candice, and Cory; siblings: Mary Lou (Donald) Hooyman-Dorn, Appleton; Keith (Helen) Main, Appleton; Donna Main, New London; Joyce Pluger, Shiocton; Gene (Karen) Main, Shiocton; Linda (Raymond) Suprise, Little Chute; Sally Piechocki, Shiocton; James (Judy) Main, Shiocton. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, a granddaughter Cayla, brother Donald, brothers-in-law Alex Hooyman and James Pluger.
The Christian Memorial Service for Lila will be held on Wednesday, October 17, 2012, at 5:00 p.m. at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Hortonville with Rev. Joel Jenswold officiating. A gathering of family and friends will be held directly at the church on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the service.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
