- Leroy F. Collar, age 75, passed away on Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at Theda Clark Medical Center following a lingering illness. He was born on August 15, 1939 in Hortonville, the son of the late Louis and Alice (Anthony) Collar. Leroy served in the US Army. He loved his family and friends dearly. Leroy had a love for the outdoors, camping, woodworking, NASCAR and the Green Bay Packers. He worked for Presto Products for 38 years and 10 years for Clean Power.
He is survived by his wife, Nona; two sons, Robert "Bob" Collar, and Gerald "Jerry" Collar, daughter Lynette (Russ) Beyer, and step-son Marty (Rebekkah) Kimball, three grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, and three step-grandchildren. He is also survived by three brothers; Louis Jr. (Christina) Collar, Terry (Sharon) Collar, and Jim (Mary) Collar, two sisters; Rosemary (John) Rhoden, and Debbie (Lee) Gehrke, brothers-in-law; Rusty (Linda) Kimball, Jamie (Dawn) Kimball, Todd (Ann Resch)Kimball, and Robin Kimball, two sister-in-laws; Judy Collar and Toni (Jay) Post, aunts, uncles, and many nieces and nephews. He is further survived by his mother-in-law Mardell (Marty) Phillips, and his first wife Marge Collar. He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Alice (Anthony) Collar, brothers; Frederick, Dennis, and Richard.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 14, 2015, at 11:00 AM at Valley Funeral Home 2211 N. Richmond St., Appleton, with Rev. Michael Huff officiating. Burial will take place at Highland Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Saturday, February 14, 2015, from 9:00 AM until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund will be established in Leroy's honor.
