- Schuh, Bertha M. (Kempen)Bertha M. (Kempen) Schuh, age 89 of Kaukauna, passed away on June 7, 20 05 from congestive heart failure. Bertha was born on March 25, 1916 daught er of Henry and Gertrude (DeBruin) Kempen. For 31 years she was marri ed to Raymond Schuh, Sr. with whom she had 15 children. Bertha lived and f armed in Freedom for 50 years. Bertha was a Christian mother at St. Nichol as Catholic Church, Freedom. She lived in Appleton for 7 years where she w orked for Alex's Manor House, The Elks Club, Peabody Manor and many cleani ng clients. She moved to Colorado where she was a house keeper for a prie st for numerous years. Upon retirement in 1994, she moved to Golden Ventur es Apartments in Kaukauna.Survivors include her 15 children: Betty Schumacher (Fred Luetschwager), a nd Carol (Patrick) Heenan, both of Appleton; Gene Schuh, Ohio; Matthew (Sa ndee) Schuh, Chilton; Donna (Don) Vanevenhoven, Tony (Karen) Schuh, Leo (B arbara) Schuh and Raymond (Joyce) Schuh Jr., all of Little Chute; Gordon ( Linda) Schuh, Utah; Willard (Mary Lou) Schuh, Freedom; Carlton (Peggy) Sch uh, Black Creek; Kathy Schuh-Ries, Milwaukee; Bernadette Wege, Louisian a; Marrianne (Jon) Blakeslee, West Virginia; and Henry (Vonnie) Schuh, N ew London; 60 grandchildren and 88 great-grandchildren. Other survivors in clude two sisters: Grace (Raymond) Vandehei, Seymour and Marion Fische r, De Pere; two brothers: Francis (Anna Marie) Kempen, Kaukauna and Robe rt (Arlene) Kempen, Lakewood; two sisters-in-law, Elsie Kempen, De Pere a nd Mary Seavers, Kimberly; also numerous nieces and nephews.Bertha was preceded in death by her parents, her former husband, a daughte r-in-law, Jo Ann Schuh; former son-in-law, Donald Schumacher; three grandc hildren: Mary Ellen Schuh, Little Hank Schuh and Tony Schuh; a great-grand child, Ezra Stegall; two brothers: Clarence and Raymond Kempen; sister, St ella Calmes; sister-in-law, Felecia Kempen and two brothers-in-law: Franc is Fischer and Donald Calmes.The Funeral Mass for Bertha will be held on Saturday, June 11, 20 05 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church (119 West 7th St., Kaukauna) wi th Rev. Robert Udulutsch officiating. Burial will be in St. Nicholas Pari sh Cemetery, Freedom. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, Ju ne 10, 2005 from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. A 7:30 p.m. prayer service will be he ld Friday at the funeral home.
