Martin John "Marty" Melotte, passed away suddenly Thursday, March 19, 2009, at his home. Marty was born to Richard and Anne (Campbell) Melotte on Jan. 5, 1962. He attended Southwest High School. Marty had a gift for sales and was employed in that field all of his life. Marty had so many other gifts as well. He would brighten up a room just by walking into it. He had a marvelous sense of humor, a beautiful singing voice, a heart of gold and the gift of Blarney. He loved music, politics, his dog, camping, his neighbors, and most of all his family. Marty was a regular Perpetual Adoration participant at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church and was a committed Christian. You couldn't find a more loyal friend than Marty. He was a great cook and loved to entertain others with fantastic meals.
He is survived by his parents, Richard and Anne Melotte, Green Bay and The Villages, Fla.; two sisters, Molly Beining and her husband, Dennis, Greenleaf; Maggie Melotte and her partner, Billy Sandmeyer, Healy, Alaska. He is further survived by his nephews, Paul Ledvina, his godson, Neil Ledvina; his niece, Emilie Beining. There was a special place in his heart for his friend, Claudia and her family. He is also survived by numerous uncles, aunts and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Thomas and Ruth Campbell; an uncle, Tejay Campbell; his paternal grandparents, Clinton and Marie Melotte.
He will be so deeply missed by so many people.
Friends may call at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday (today). A parish wake service will be held at 8 p.m. Tuesday. Friends may also call at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 2597 Glendale Ave., Howard, from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday.
