- Petit, Christina Barbara, Berlin, Age 84, died on Thursday evening, Nov. 27, 2003 at Juliette Manor Nursing Home of Berlin. Christina Barbara Petit was born on May 16, 1919 in Greenville, Wis., the daughter of Joch and Mary Jackman Heid. She attended and graduated from Saint Mary's grade school in Greenville. She married Leo E. Petit on April 26, 1938 at Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Appleton. Leo and Christina moved their family to Berlin in 1957. Her dear Leo passed away in November of 1992, after sharing 54 years together.
Christina was a housewife, loved cooking, baking bread, gardening, canning, and most of all raising her beloved family of eight. She also enjoyed playing Sheepshead, and 500 Rummy. Later after her children were grown, she worked at William's Dry Cleaners, Berlin Hospital, in the dietary department, and at the Parkside Restaurant of Redgranite. She was a member of All Saints Catholic Parish of Berlin.
Survivors include: two daughters, Joyce (Ray) Krueger, Redgranite; Bernadette (George) Briski, Berlin; four sons, Louis (Nancy) Petit, Neshkoro; Robert (Donna) Petit, Berlin; LeRoy (Joyce) Petit, Berlin; Charles Petit, Pine River; 25 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Raymond (Helen) Petit, sisters-in-law, Luella VanVonderen, Ann Petit, Margaret Petit, Lois Petit, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by husband Leo; parents; children, Diana Jean Gustke, Roger D. Petit; daughter-in-law Carol Petit; granddaughter Renee Petit; sister Regina Schultze; brothers Harold Heid, Joe Heid; nephews Father Paul Schultze, Ken Heid; brothers-in-law Alvin, Adrian, Glen, Vernon, Victor, Mark, Leander, Joe; sisters-in-law Leona Heid, Florence Petit, Clara Petit.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday morning, Dec. 2, 2003, at 10:30 a.m. from Saint Stanislaus Catholic Church of Berlin. The Rev. Jerome Maksvytis will officiate. Burial will be in the Saint Michael's Cemetery of Berlin.
Relatives and friends may call on Monday evening, Dec. 1, 2003 from 4 until 8 p.m., also 9 to 10 a.m. on Tuesday morning at the John R. Wiecki/Skipchak Funeral Home of Berlin. A Parish Rosary will be recited at 7:45 p.m.
