- I am researching a mystery regarding Theodore Edward Davis' father, Edwa rd Davis. Edward Davis married Honorah Curtin after William Coakley die d. I wish I knew when William Coakley died, because it would clear up t he date she married my grandfather, Edward.Honora Crotty, is my grandmother's mom.Nora Curtin (Honora Curtin, b. 18 59, was my grandmother).My father Theodore was born in Duluth, MN August 16, 1908 to Nora Curtin.a nd Edward Davis in the home at 312 Devonshire Street. This was the pla ce where William Coakley's family, as you have listed, lived in 1900. T he children of William Coakley moved to the Portland, Oregon area.I am i nterested, very much,, in knowing what happened to the youngest, Nora Coak ley. I believe 'Mora' may be a mis-spelling, but we know nothing about her .She has disappeared from the family unit that moved to Portland, Orego n.Edward Davis was born in Scranton, Pennsylvania. He left my grandmother 's household, and I believe they divorced when my father wasstill a toddler, maybe 1911??...don't know. He was listed as being 49 ye ars old in 1908, and Nora was 48 years old. This is a 'real' family myste ry.I wish I knew more about Edward, and we literally have no photos of a ny of those family members, even from the Coakley side. I believe they th en journeyed to Portland, Or. My grandmother, "Mrs. Nora Davis", is list ed with her oldest son James Coakley in the 1930 census in Portland, Orego n. I have a 'few' cousins in Portland, but they may not want stuff publi shed.I am looking for photos from my grandmother's family from Woodvill e, Wisconsin.. I see the county names may have changed or rearranged. I w as unfamiliar with "Fox Cities and Kaukauna" terms.They attended the fami ly church in Duluth, MN called "Church of St. Clements".I believe the original church is gone. Raymond Caspar Basel, OSB was t he family pastor at that time. Recently, I discovered that he wasfrom Germany, and in 1930 census there is a listing of Raymond Bas el as an 'inmate' in Stearns, MN. There may be 2 'Raymond Basel'individuals, however, the coincidence is uncanny."Martha Coakley" was my f ather Theodore Edward Davis' stepsister. She married someone named Anders on, and lived in Portland, Oregon. I found that in 1930 there was a Mart ha Anderson living with someone named "Mrs Ada Basel with son, Wallace E .. This Martha Anderson is listed as 'sister' to Ada. This Martha m ay not be my dad's stepsister.However, it is eery that Ada Basel is listed as 'sister', and is from illi nois, (parents from Germany).I suppose this could be a surname dilemma, b ut it bothers me a bit.Hope this is enough for now.
