- Elizabeth J. Van Drunen (nee Betty Hearden), age 89, died peacefully on October 20, 2017 at St. Paul Elder Services. She was born in Appleton, the daughter of Christoper and Petronella (LeNoble) Hearden. She married John W. Van Drunen in 1950 and celebrated 64 years of marriage prior to John's death. Betty was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Kimberly and the Ladies Auxiliary Post 60 of the American Legion.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, John R. (Kathy) Van Drunen, Kaukauna, grandchildren Matthew (Samantha) Van Drunen and their children Vivian and Winston, Lake Bluff, IL., and Luke Van Drunen (girlfriend, Kaitlyn Dvorchek), Chicago IL. Betty is also survived by sister Irene Russell, brother and sister-in-law Richard (Sharon Perry) Hearden, sister-in-law Sharon Hearden, sister-in-law Delores Van Drunen, and brother-in-law Richard Van Drunen. She also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband John, her parents, her in-laws Adrian and Jennie Van Drunen, brother and sister-in-law Robert (Joyous) Hearden, sister and brother-in-law Ilene (William) Lyman, brother Donald Hearden, sister-in-law Geraldine Van Drunen, and brother-in-law Vincent Van Drunen.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, October 28, 2017 in Schmidt Chapel at St. Paul Home, 316 E. 14th Street, Kaukauna. Friends may call from 10:00 am until the time of service. Private burial will be held at a later date at Holy Name Cemetery, Kimberly.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established for St. Paul Elder Services. Boettcher Family Funeral Home, Kaukauna, is assisting the family.
