- Gertrude L. Huettl, age 92, Medina, passed away on Sunday, March 27, 2011. Gertrude was born on July 27, 1918, in Milwaukee, daughter of the late Erwin and Emma (Hoffman) Borgwardt. She was baptized on August 20, 1918, and confirmed on May 21, 1933, in St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church, Dale. On September 9, 1939, she was united in marriage to Willard Huettl in their house in Medina. They were married for 64 years. Gertrude enjoy spending time with her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed sewing, cooking and crafts.
Gertrude is survived by her children: Geri (Duwayne) Manteufel, Wayne (Judy) Huettl and Dennis (Terri) Huettl; and a sister, Elsie Rieckmann. Grandchildren, Randy (Holly) Manteufel, Steve (Nancy) Manteufel, Mike (Tena) Manteufel, Debbie (Lorenzo) DeLaCruz, Todd (Jenny) Huettl, Stacey (Dave) Mielke, Ryan (Abby) Huettl and Devin Huettl (special friend Matt). 15 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends also survive her.
Her parents, husband Willard, a sister, Erdine Selle, and a her stepmother, Anna Kuhlmann, preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 30, 2011, at 11 a.m. at St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church, Dale, with Rev. William Finn officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in the Dale Union Cemetery.
