- Mrs. Hubert George, (Phine Ve rhagen) 629 Lincoln Ave. Kaukauna; Age 82, died peacefully Tuesday, Novemb er 9, 1993 at St. Elizabeth Hospital following a lingering illness. She w as born May 24, 1911 in Little Chute; the daughter of the late Micha el and Catherine (Dercks) Verhagen: Phine was married October 7, 1929 to H ubert George sharing 50 years together, before his death in July of 198 6. Mother loved traveling, walking, having breakfast with her cousins b ut above all being with her family. She was a member of Holy Cross Cathol ic Church. She is survived by, three sons and daughters-in-law: James a nd Mary Jean George, DeLand, Florida; Richard and Dolly George, Bruce a nd Irene George, all of Kaukauna;two daughters and sons-in-law, Betty Janssen, Grace and Richard Van Hande l, Joseph Smith, all of Kaukauna; 19 grandchildren: Allen (Ginny)-Jansse n, Linda (Kent) Neville, Susan Micke, Robert (LuAnne) Janssen, Dave and Ma rge VanHandel, Donna (Gary) Weyenberg, Dale (Stacie) Van Handel, Denise ( Dan) Zwick; Dawn Van Handel, Larry (Liz) George, Steve Marsceau; Debbie He nsen, Judy (Jim) Wittman, Dan (Barb) George, Julie Smith, Dawn Franke, Har rison George, April George, Brian George; 23 great grandchildren; two brot hers and two sisters-in-law: Michael and June Verhagen, Appleton, James Ve rhagen, Kaukauna; Pat Verhagen, Wrightstown; two sisters: Barbara Van Aste n, Litlle Chute; Jeanette Van Deurzen, Little Chute. She was preceded in d eath by a daughter, Jane Smith; a grandsqn,- Michael Janssen; a brother, D onald; six sisters: Rosell Felaur, Wilma Vandehey, Florence Staege, Elizab eth Verhagen, Rita Wegand, Dorothy Wolf. Funeral services will be he ld at 11 a.m. Friday, November 12, 1993 at Holy Cross Catholic Church; Kau kauna with Father Jack Mul1arkey officiating. Burial will be in Holy Cro ss Cemetery, Kaukauna. Friends may at the Farge Funeral Home from 4 unt il 9 p.m. on Thursday and from 8:30 a.m. Friday until the cortege leaves f or the church. There will be a parish prayer service at 6:30 p.m. Thursd ay evening. A memorial fund has been established in her name.
