  Michael M. Verhagen, of Appleton, Age 81, died Sunday, July 11, 2004 at Appleton Medical Center. Michael was born August 16, 1922 in Kaukauna to t he late Michael G. and Catherine (Derks) Verhagen and has lived in the F ox Valley all of his life. He proudly served his country in the Army Air C orps during World War II. On Sept. 24, 1942 Michael married June Zorn ow at St. John Catholic Church in Little Chute, and the couple enjoy ed 55 years together until her death in 1997. He worked for many yea rs at Rich's Bakery, formerly known as Elm Tree Bakery, until his retireme nt in 1984. Michael was a member at St. Thomas More Catholic Church.He is survived by three daughters, Mary (Ken) Rapp, Buffalo, NY; Nancy (Ti m) Vermette, Ga; and Katherine (special friend Denise) Verhagen, Bruce, Wi s; Four sons, David (Sharon) Verhagen, Neenah; Jeffrey (Danielle) Verhage n, Greenville; Steven (special friend Carl) Verhagen, Daytona Beach, Fl a; Joseph (Micki) Verhagen, Appleton; and Theodore Verhagen, Greenvill e. 14 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Further survived by his si ster Jeanette Vanduerzin, Little Chute; and a daughter in law Bonnie (Lyl e) Malliet, Neenah.He is preceded in death by his wife June; a son Michael; his parents; a nd 10 brothers and sisters.Mass of Resurrection 11 a.m. Thursday, July 15th at St. Thomas More Cathol ic Church, 1810 N. McDonald St. Appleton, with the Rev. Gerald Falk offici ating. Friends may call on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Brettschneide r-Trettin-Lederer Funeral Chapel and directly at the church on Thursday fr om 10 a.m. until the time of service. Parish Prayer Service 7:30 p.m. Wedn esday at the funeral chapel.
