- Patrick H., Moran 81 years of age, pioneer Kaukauna resident, and well known in this section of the state, died at his home at 422 Park Street, here Monday, May 17, at 4 a.m. after a long illness. Funeral services were held from St. Mary's church Wednesday morning at 9 o'clock, the solemn requiem high mass being conducted by the Rev. Father Ripp. Burial was in the south side Catholic Cemetery; Pallbearers were Matt Carney, Joseph Hiliday, John Corcoran, Sr. Otto Nicholas, Matt Martin and George Brenzel. Patrick H. Moran was born at Newcastle on the Tyine, England March 14, 1845, and in 1847 came to the United States with his parents who settled on a farm at Cedarburg. Immediately following the Civil War Mr. Moran moved to Morrison, Brown County, on a farm there. While there, in 1869, he was united in marriage with Mary McDonald of Morrison. There were three children by this marriage, Mrs. Moran died on December 17, 1874. On October 4, 1876, the late Mr. Moran married Miss Mary Catherine Clark of Wrightstown. There were seven children by this marriage. The deceased was prominent in political circles of Brown County for a number of years, being a member if the state legislature for the term of 1880. In 1884 he was elected to the office of sheriff of Brown County, serving in the capacity until1886 In 1887 he moved to Kaukauna and has been a resident of this city since. The dead man is survived by his widow; four daughters, Mrs. Edward Hogan of Neenah, Mrs. A.R. McDonald of Madison, Mrs. Estella Quayel of Chicago, and Miss Elizabeth Moran of Marinette; four sons, John J. of Los Angeles, Charles H. of Gary, Ind. Leo of Oostburg and William T. of Kaukauna; two sisters, Mrs. Anna Kane of Morrison, and Mrs. Elizabeth Duffy of Los Angeles; one brother , Michael T. of Gliddon, Wis. Among the out of town people who attended the funeral were, Charles Moran and son, C.H. of Gary, Mrs. Estella Quayel of Chicago, Mr. and Mrs. A.H. McDonald and children, Don and Jean of Madison, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Hogan of Neenah, Leo, Robert, and Ray Moran of Oostburg, Miss Elizabeth Moran of Marinette, Miss Esther Clark and Mr. and Mrs. H. Christofferson of Milwaukee, Mrs. George Egan of Chicago, James Clark and the Misses Margaret and Mary Clark of Oshkosh, Mrs. Michael Clark, Miss Julia Norton, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Kane, Mrs. Elizabeth Duckett and Mr. and Mrs. Ed Martin and family of De Pere, Mr. and Mrs. William O'Brien, Robert E. Lynch, Mrs. Minnie Fischer, Mr and Mrs. J. Quinette, and Mrs. T.H.
