- See Image Norbert S. Meulemans, Wrig htstown, age 85 and died unexpectedly at his home Monday evening, Janua ry 12th, 1998. Born on October 20th, 1912 on a farm near Wrightstown. Nor bert was the sixth of nine children born to the late Edward C. and Barba ra Buechel) Meulemans. On September 2nd, 1937 he married Ceil Verhag en at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Freedom. They spent their liv es on a dairy farm near Wrightstown were Norbert was well-known for his re gistered Holstein cattle. After selling the farm to his youngest son, Je ff in 1979, he returned it daily to help with chores he loved dearl y. He was a lifetime member of St. Paul's Catholic Church in Wrightsto wn where he was a member of the Holy Name Society and a trustee for 16 yea rs. In 1956 he was instrumental in the building of the present schoo l. He was also a member of the Wrightstown Catholic Knights, a lifetime m ember of the State and National Holstein Association, a Farm Bureau membe r, 4-H leader, honorary member of the Reedsville sportsman Club, memb er of the Wrightstown Golden Agers, and did volunteer work, especially wi th the maintenance of St. Paul cemetery. He enjoyed hunting, wood cuttin g, baseball and football and love to play sheepshead, especially with fell ow senior citizens! Norb is survived by his seven children and their spous es: Vernon and Monica Meulemans, of Wrightstown; Donna and Paul Uitenbroe k, of Darboy; Kenneth and Mary Lynn Meulemans, of rural DePere; Diane a nd Jerome Schrieber, of Darboy; Joyce and Glenn Hansen, of Kaukauna; Denn is and Chris Meulemans, of Whitelaw; Jeff and Carol Meulemans, of Wrightst own; 36 grandchildren, and 38 great-grandchildren. He is also surviv ed by four sisters and a brother in law, Margaret Frahm, of Appleton, Ed na Spierings, of Little Chute; Lorain and William Green, of Kaukauna; Evel yn Blick, of Appleton; and a brother in law, Bob Leidel. He is further su rvived by his wife's two sisters and seven brothers and their spouses. N or was preceded in death by his wife, Ceil, who died November 3rd, 1996 a nd two great-grandchildren, Ben and Erin; three sisters and two brothe rs in law: Mamie Leidel, Mildred and Cliff Arnoldussen, Regina and Mart in Kieffer, a brother and sister in law, Emil and Marie Meulemans, and thr ee brothers in law, Joseph Frahm, Henry Spierings, and John Blick. S ix of Norb's grandson's will serve as pallbearers, Jim Meulemans, Gary Sch rieber, Mike Meulemans, Tony Uitenbroek, Jim Hansen and Abe Meulemans. Fr iends may call at St. Paul Catholic Church in Wrightstown on Friday from 4 :00 until 7:00 p.m. The mass of resurrection will be at St. Paul's Chur ch on Friday evening at 7:30 p.m. with Father Elroy E. Reimer officiatin g. Burial in the parish cemetery.
