- Hermes, Carl P.Carl P. Hermes, 73, De Pere, died Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2005, at his hom e. He was born Oct. 12, 1931, to the late Joseph and Mary (Minten) Herm es in De Pere, Wis. On Oct. 16, 1954, he married Shirley Mueller at Zion L utheran Church, Appleton, Wis. Carl served his country in the U.S. Army fr om 1949 to 1954 in Japan, Korea and Europe. He received the Korean Servi ce Ribbon - 3 stars, U. N. Service Medal, National Defense Service, Occupa tion Medal, Combat Inf. Badge, and the Purple Heart. Carl had been employ ed at Proctor & Gamble for 36 years.Survivors include his wife, Shirley; four sons and their spouses, Randa ll and Patti Hermes, Stevens Point; Russell and Karen Hermes, De Pere; Rob ert Hermes and, special friend, Tina Nowicki, Stevens Point; and Ronald a nd Julie Laundrie Hermes, Madison; 12 grandchildren; and one great-grandch ild.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Richar d; a grandchild, Sara Hermes; brothers and sisters.Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 9, at Lyndahl Funeral Hom e. Visitation will continue after 10 a.m. Saturday at Calvary Lutheran Chu rch, 1301 South Ridge Road, where the funeral service will take pla ce at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Earl Vorpagel III officiating. Entombment wi ll be at the Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum with full military hono rs.
