- Clement J. Romenesko, Appleto n, age 88, died unexpectedly and peacefully at his home on Sunday, Janua ry 30th, 2000. Clem was born February 6th, 1911, in Freedom. He was t he son of Anna Conrad and Joseph Romenesko. He married Alice Baumann of M ackville on November 21st, 1933, and recently celebrated their 66th weddi ng anniversary. Settling in Kaukauna, he worked at Thilmany Paper Mill un til purchasing a farm in 1942. At that time he also built his own livest ock business which he operated as a dealer and shipper for 40 years. In 1 957 they moved to Appleton at their present address where he owned and ope rated the Appleton Meat Packing company and in 1963 built the Romenesko Mo bile Home Park. Clem retired from the livestock business in 1980 and cont inued to operate the mobile home park until 1996. An avid Packer fan a nd Hunter he still bagged a deer in the 1999 season and was well known f or his sense of humor and quick wit. Clem enjoyed polka dancing every we ek with Alice and hunting and socializing with his nephew Wimpy and his wi fe Muggs. He is survived by his wife, Alice; nine children, Ron, Lee (Dar lene), June Geiger, and Noreen (Tommie) Thomas, all of Appleton. Others i nclude Bonnie (Richard) Byford, Toronto Canada; Dell J., of Greensboro, No rth Carolina; Dean, of Los Angeles, California; Neil, of Stevens Point; a nd Bev, of Plainfield, Conn. Further survivors include seven grandchildre n, Brenda (Joe) Nicolais, and Bruce (Chris) Romenesko, Appleton; Sue (Jaso n) Marshall, and Sarah Byford, Canada; Joy (Jeff) Sim, of Virginia.; Da wn (John) Grote, of Washington D.C.; and Sonya Schilcher, of Appleton; gre at-grandchildren, Lexi Sim, Jason and Brittany Romenesko, Stephanie and Aa ron and Nicolais, a sister Lillian Vandynhoven, of Kaukauna. He was prece ded in death by a son, Wendell, and a daughter, Susan Marie; brothers, a nd John and Walter; five sisters, Pauline, Mathilda, Florence, Marion, a nd Gladys. Funeral services will be Thursday February 4th, 2000 at 11: 00 a.m. at St. Thomas Moore Catholic Church Appleton. Burial will be at H oly Cross cemetery in Kaukauna.
