- Lois Driessen, age 86 of Appleton, went to be with her Lord and Savior, on Wednesday, November 23, 2016, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Little Chute on June 29, 1930 to the late Peter and Lydia (Kasten) Van Boxtel. In 1948, Lois met her husband, Lawrence, they were married on June 1, 1950, and together they raised seven children. Most of Lois's life was spent as a homemaker, raising their children. Once the children were grown, she worked for a time as a bookkeeper.
Lawrence and Lois enjoyed traveling and spending with their family. She was interested in learning new things and enjoyed many hobbies over the years, like sewing, knitting, card making, pressed flowers, playing sheepshead, and herb gardening.
Lois is survived by her children; Steven (Joan) Driessen, Spring Hill, TN, Ellen (Ken) Heraly, Kaukauna, WI, Karen (Charlie) Olson, Abrams, WI, Mary (James) Loritz, Kiel, WI, Sandy (George) Koehler, Sherwood, WI, Paul (Jane) Driessen, Darboy, WI and Amy (Robert) Smith, St. Cloud, FL. She is further survived by 16 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Lawrence and brother, Richard.
Funeral services for Lois will be held at 2:00pm, Sunday, November 27, 2016 at Valley Funeral Home, 2211 N Richmond St, Appleton. Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:00pm at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial to: Robin's Nest of Fox Cities (local cancer support) has been established in Lois's name.
