- Barbara L. Hoffmann, age 84, of Chilton, died on Friday, February 5, 2016 at St. Paul Elder Home in Kaukauna. She was born May 10, 1931 in Indianapolis, daughter of the late Paul S. & Carrie (Edwards) Weber. She married Marvin J. Hoffmann on June 20, 1953 at St. John Church in Indianapolis; he preceded her in death on November 8, 1998.
Barbara dedicated her life to the care of her family and the betterment of their lives. In her younger years, in addition to caring for her own family, she helped with babysitting other children from throughout the area. Later in life, Barbara worked as a custodian for both Chilton Public Schools and Chilton Area Catholic Schools. She was a strong willed woman, often time accomplishing tasks others said couldn't be done.
She was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church and loved to spend time with her grandchildren and her cats. In the summer time, Barbara looked forward to local county fairs and trips to the Wisconsin State Fair and Milwaukee Brewer Games. The highlight of her Brewer Fandom was when she threw out the First Pitch at a game at County Stadium.
Survivors include her children: Margaret Mary Maas of Menasha, Michael J. Hoffmann of Chilton; a daughter-in-law: Dena Hoffman; a son-in-law: Neil Maas; her grandchildren: Neil Jeffery (Jamie) Maas, Kevin (Laurie) Maas, Nathan (Emma) Maas, Carrie & Mackenzie Hoffmann; her great grandchildren: Annabel, Abby, Owen, Isaac, Aubrey & Aiden Maas; her sisters: Gwen Weber & Ann Petro; her brother: Donald Weber, James (Mary Ann) Weber; and a sister-in-law: Margaret Weber.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Marvin; a son: Kenneth Hoffmann; a sister: Rose Weber; her brothers: Arvine Weber, Paul Weber, Robert (Rita) Weber, Birney (Carol) Weber; and a brother-in-law: Charles Petro.
Funeral service will be at 12:00 Noon on Friday, February 12, 2016 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church (54 E. Main St.) in Chilton with the Rev. Ryan Krueger officiating. Burial will be in the St. Mary Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 10:00 am until 12:00 Noon on Friday, February 12, 2016.
