- Joyce Rose Roberts Schuler (1919-2013), a contented woman who showed us how to grow old with grace. Joyce welcomed and cared for those in her home, church (Holy Cross), neighborhood, and community. It didn't seem possible that she could become more pleasant with age but she did. From her front porch on Idlewild Street to her room at Rennes nursing home, she continued to tenderly love us, especially her little ones. Married to Marvin "Dago" Schuler and raising her family was Joyce's life. With hard work and humor she blessed us all till the end. Children and Grandchildren: Scott (Pam) Schuler, Jill and Gary Frassetto, Holly and Ken Bekkers, Sara (Stan) Plzak, Mai Plzak, Lydia and Chad Anderson, Jenny (Dick) Bergstrom, Gretchen and Chris Dimmer, Liesl and Chris Britzke, Luke and Libbe Bergstrom, Jake and Brigid Bergstrom, Jeff (Robin) Schuler, Adrea Allgeyer, Wyatt Schuler, Cole Schuler, Amy (Michael) Bartsch, Elizabeth Bartsch, Ezra Bartsch, Leah Bartsch, Molly (Lee) Huss, Sam and Kelly Huss, and Hanna Huss. Joyce was also blessed with 17 great-grandchildren. Celebrating with Joyce on her 94th birthday were her brothers and sisters Tom (Tess), Jack (Floss), Dan (Charlie) and Elizabeth Roberts, her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren which added to our already cherished memories of our lovely mother. Thank you to those who visited and cared for her. Joyce requested that this portion of the bible be in her obituary. It was sent to her on a mother's day card by her daughter Amy years ago and it was all true of the way Joyce lived. "Happy mother's day mom. God was speaking of you when he wrote Proverbs 31". "Strength and dignity are her clothing, and she smiles at the future. She opens her mouth in wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue. She looks well to the ways of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children rise up and bless her". Any donation in her honor can be given to the KHS Alumni Scholarship fund, an organization she was involved with throughout her lifetime. Please join us in celebrating Joyce in Friendship Hall at Holy Cross Church Desnoyer Street Kaukauna from 2:30-4 pm. Mass to follow beginning at 4pm.
