  Nicholas A. Vander Pas, Little ChuteAge 89, died Saturday March 10, 2001, at Saint Elizabeth Hospital. He w as born April 7, 1911, in Kimberly, son of William and Marie (Koenen) Vand er Pas. Nick married Rosemary Hoolihan in 1935 in Kaukauna and she preced ed him in death in 1992. Mr. Vander Pas was employed by the Appleton Pape rs Locks Mill for nearly 48 years, retiring as Senior Buyer and was a memb er of their Quarter Century Club. He was the Village of Little Chute Asses sor for 26 years (1941-1967) and a former financial secretary and memb er of the Catholic Order of Foresters. Nick was a member of Saint John Cat holic Church, Little Chute, where he was a member of their church choir f or over 50 years. He also was a vocalist at more than 720 weddings at 33 a rea churches. He was a charter member of the Little Chute Kiwanis Club.Mr. Vander Pas is survived by his children: Tom (Joyce) Vander Pas, Litt le Chute; Jim Vander Pas, Denver, Colo., and his special friend Barb; Mari lyn Vander Pas at home; Dan (Mary) Vander Pas, Appleton; special former da ughter-in-law, Betty Vander Pas, Kimberly; 14 grandchildren: Tod, Tim, Tam my and Troy; Debbie, Cindy, Scott, Bill, Mark, Jon and Matthew; Lisa, Meli ssa and Melinda; 29 great-grandchildren and two more expected soon; one br other, Cyril "Bill" (Betty) Vander Pas, Eureka, Ill.; one sister, Geraldi ne "Honey" (John) Biersteker, Columbus, Ohio; two sisters-in-law: Franc es Vander Pas, Little Chute; Lorraine Piepenburg, Combined Locks. He was a lso preceded in death by a son, Patrick; two brothers: Anthony Vander P as and Cornelius (Rita) Vander Pas; four sisters: Kay (Marvin "Doc") Hartj es, Mary (Fred) Domke, Betty (Martin) Van Grinsven and Harriet (Harold) Go ssman; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Karl Piepenburg, Catherine (Do n) Reider, Bernice (Francis) Alears and James (Frances) Hoolihan.Funeral services will be held at 5 p.m. Wednesday, March 14, 2001, at Sai nt John Church, Little Chute, with Rev. Msgr. James Vanden Hogen officiati ng. Interment will be in Saint John Cemetery, Little Chute. Friends may ca ll at the Verkuilen Funeral Home from 2 to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday.
