  Age 67, passed away on Tuesday, July 19, 1921, at his home the Village of Shiocton, WI. He was born on June 29, 1858, in Berlin, Germany. He married Albertina Weiland in 1878, in Berlin, Germany. They came to America in February 1882 and settled at Poy Sippi, from there they moved to New London where they resided a short time and then moved to a farm in the Town of Ellington. In 1892 he purchased a farm in the Town of Bovina, living there until 1904 when he purchased the North-Western Hotel in Shiocton which he conducted for several years. Five children were born to them, three of whom have preceded him to the great beyond. He leaves his wife, son Rudolph, and daughter, Charles (Mary) Tuchwood of Rhinelander; and seven grandchildren. The funeral was held from the family residence, Thursday, July 21, 1921, at 10 o'clock in the forenoon, Rev. Lester of the Seymour M.E. Church conducting the services.
