- Geraldine J. Lehman, age 82, of Chicago, IL., and formerly of Marion, passed away Monday, March 28, 2011 in Chicago.
The former Geraldine Josephine Leslie was born September 11, 1928 in Elcho, WI., and was the daughter of Estle and Dehlia (Skeel) Leslie. She was a graduate of Elcho High School and Antigo Teachers College, in 1948, as Valedictorian of her class. She taught at Maple Valley School, Marion, from 1949 to 1951 and was united in marriage to Reinhard E. Lehman on November 21, 1951 at St. John Lutheran Church, Marion, WI. Reinhard passed away August 31, 1993. The couple lived in Chicago most of their married life, where Geraldine worked at the Marshall-Fields Department Store from 1967 to 1993.
Survivors include two daughters, Susan (Lawrence) Ogawa, Tacoma, WA., and Leslie (JoEllen) Lehman, Des Plaines, IL, and three sons, David (Leslye) Lehman, Morton Grove, IL., Reinhard Lehman, Jr. Chicago, IL., and Douglas (Cynthia) Lehman, Des Plaines, IL. There are seven grandchildren. There are two sisters, Ruth Scott, IL and Anne (Verne) Lehman, Hortonville, WI. Other relatives include sister-in-law, Edna Lehman, Fremont, brother-in-law, Vilas (Linda) Lehman, Mosinee, WI., sister-in-law, Ruby Niemuth, Marion, WI., and brother-in-law, Hollis Sether, Marion. Geraldine was preceded in death by two sisters, Esther and Lilly, one brother, Estle Leslie, Jr., and two brothers-in-law, Eugene Lehman & Harold Niemuth, and a sister-in-law, Eileen Sether.
Funeral Services will be Saturday, April 2, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at the BeiL-Didier Funeral Home, Marion. Rev. Skip Robertson will officiate, with burial in the Roseland Cemetery, Marion.
